Murray Covens — Principal since 2003
Murray Covens has been involved in the nonprofit community in Dallas for more than 30 years. He has served on the board of directors for many local nonprofit organizations, and is a former partner with Social Venture Partners. Before founding North Texas Nonprofit Resources, Murray had over 30 years of financial and business management experience with both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration, and was formerly a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
Sherri Barrett — Associate since 2008
Sherri Barrett has over 30 years of grant writing and other development experience with leading nonprofit organizations before joining North Texas Nonprofit Resources. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Baylor University.
Jennifer Morrison — Associate since 2012
Jennifer Morrison has over 25 years of grant writing experience, including strong government grant writing experience, encompassing program development, grant research, proposal development, and grant reporting. She has spearheaded the receipt of millions of dollars in government grants. Jennifer was with a domestic violence agency for 14 years before joining North Texas Nonprofit Resources, including 10 years as Executive Director. Previously she was Director of a Sexual Assault Recovery Program for six years. Jennifer holds Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Education degrees, and was formerly both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor.
Marti Royer — Associate since 2013
Marti Royer has more than 25 years of grant writing experience, in addition to 15 years as Executive Director for family foundations. She has also worked in development for several years with organizations such as Center for Nonprofit Management, Boys & Girls Clubs, and Girls, Inc. Marti has served on the board of directors for Social Venture Partners, United Cerebral Palsy, and Center for Computer Assistance to the Disabled. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work, Administration, and Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
